my late aunt left my sisters and cousin's with one of the
largest barbie collections in the country
they ended up splitting up the collection on her request after
she past on.
they have all the originals,mackey all,movie collction all,
i luv lucy all,harley barbie,she left 'em to me,motorcycle and all.
ferrari barbie all, all the clothing sets,houses,busses,corvettes
,vinyl wardrobe cases,friends,kens all,pj,even the hairdo head
she was so fanatical about this stuff
my older cousin had it all appraised and it supposidely is
worth a small fortune, especially the macky,originals/clothing
i don't think i'll ever have a daughter so i am holding the
harley collection and two elvis moody blue(actually blue)new in cover albums for the day my nieces get married

Vintage posters are a collector's item. For many art aficionados, they are worth more than a spend paintings of contemporary modern artists. Not only lovers of art, history, and print, but also investors are now looking at the vintage poster market to provide them unique collectibles.
A Short History of Poster Art
The first posters, printed in the late 18th century, were drab, unattractive squares of paper. These posters were block printed, leaving little room for color or intricate design. It was the lithographer Cheret who designed a technique by which posters could be printed in many colors. Poster art came into its own in the late 19th century in Europe, where famous artists created posters to advertise everything from operas to cosmetics. Toulouse Lautrec and Alphonse Mucha were celebrities of their time, designing posters for equally famous opera singers and stage actresses. Each country had its own style of poster design, influenced by their culture and commercial needs. It was only in the early 19th century that the poster came to be the modern advertising vehicle we know today, with attention grabbing taglines and large images.
Collector's Items
The death of poster art has only led to its increasing popularity in some circles. Vintage Posters are in high demand, thanks to their ornate designs created by some of the greatest artists of the past century. A Toulouse Lautrec vintage poster can fetch the seller a cool $300,000. Works by other famous poster artists also fetch the same price, because these are the ones that can be said to be the original fine art posters. However, you can safely invest in vintage posters of other artists as well, which carry influences of the British, French, Italian, German or Dutch school of design.
You can buy these posters online. The most expensive posters are the ones painstakingly printed using Cheret's procedure. The colors are vivid, and the designs are complex. Almost all vintage fine arts posters were created using this method. The poster must be an original print, not a later reprint.
